Film Questionaire

Do you think this film was predictable?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
How would you this film out of five?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Was any part of this film offensive?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did the film fit the genre well?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you pay to see this film?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did the advertisement/presentation of the film interest you?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Issues
Audience don't like it
Depressive ending
Director doesnt want to change any of the frames
If it doesn't make money you wont get a job in hollywood again

Options
Persuade director to:
Re-edit
Re-shoot
2 versions - alternate endings (keeps the director happy)
Change advertisement for audience

Overall I would change the advertisement for the film, as I believe that this would give the audience more of an idea of how the ending might be. This will hopefully show the audience what they are going to see when viewing this film.

48 Hour Film Project

For the 48 hour film project I am going to be looking at 2 films which I think will help me gain ideas, in order for me to create a better short film. One of the films that I have chosen is called 'Harry brown' - this film is focused on youth crime and gangs. During this film they portray how gangs can affect people, such as how they are intimidating and very dangerous. Another film I have chosen to use is called 'Fish Tank' - this film isn't as well known but I think it's a very good film to use as the characters are very similar to what I want my characters to be portrayed as in my short film. The main girl in this film is a 15 year old who is lonely, living in a council estate, being bought up by a single mother who isolates her children.

Misleading film poster

Evaluation

We decided to create our poster based on the film Mama, which is a horror/thriller movie. We then changed it into a comedy film by adding bright colours and images of what typical young girls would draw (butterflies and flowers). We positioned the title, tag line and quotes on the wall so it would come across as the young girls have written it. The tag line says "life is two-riffic with twins". We decided to choose this line as it has a slight twist as the word 'two-riffic' is meant to be 'terrific' which then also sounds like the word 'terrifying'. The quotes written on the wall say "double the trouble" & "dead funny" linking to the horror aspect of the film.

Pitch

For our short film/single camera production we were given the genre Crime. We were given a line which had to be included within the production, this line was "this town is becoming like a ghost town." This production needs to last for about 5-10 minutes, including a range of camera angles and different locations. A rough idea of the film is that there are 2 girls which are in their own "gang". they like to consider themselves as "hard drug takers" who no one wants to get on the wrong side of. They have recently recruited a new member to the gang of which they make this new member carry out a drug deal, from then onwards everything goes out of hand.
